Our comments: It is very hard, if not impossible to come across high quality animation in web site designs. RY-GUY.com, a personal portfolio site, is a rare gem that features tons of smooth, detailed animations seamlessly blended to the design. An elaborate illustration of a typical American big city street corner is used as the main interface, and it is populated with passing cars, trucks, and even alien invaders that look like the beachball alien from John Carpenter's classic cosmic comedy Dark Star. There is a quick version too (watch the paperboy). 100% Flash.
It's good that people try new interfaces and escape from the traditional web page layout and he did it, but it lacks some coherence in the usability and navigation.
I like the idea, and I like the pigeons for closing the sections, but I don't like how things open in new windows without warning or how when I clicked "Resume" it started downloading the PDF. (In my opinion you should warn people when something is going to change or begin to download. Most people expect things to open in the same window they are in.)
Interesting way of presenting yourself. However, it is not that innovative as some let us believe, since there are numerous sites who used the city view navigation before. Has a nice rpg game feel to it though.
Yeah, this is nice. I got a bit confused and lost sometimes with the navigation (maybe they should try a perm navitation bar, like the one at http://www.gorillaz.com), but the overall is pretty, pretty good.
